If last week was a 'normal' week, this week is filled with must do's...:) Thank you Tiany at Less of Me, More of Him for hosting, and for the nice comments over the weekend:)I say it every week, but I love the laid out plan..it's my online guide to keeping it together~:)
you can click here to see what others have going on this week.....

Now it’s time for something different here at the HSB. Something we plan to do every month, once a month, on the second Saturday of the month… A Homeschool Swap!

“What is a swap?” you say.
Swaps are like having a secret sister that isn’t secret… and having a new secret sister each month. You fill out a questionnaire about yourself, get paired up with a secret sister, and spend about 5$ plus postage each month sending a personalized gift to your monthly swap buddy. The great thing is, you get a 5$ gift back… customized for you. Even better is the fact that you are swapping with another homeschool mom… and the thing about swapping with homeschoolers is that you are swapping with someone who knows how hard it is to have an extra hat on at home. We can get just as excited about swapping school supplies as we can about swapping other more usual things (like postcards, pretty papers, scrapbook items, personalized things, nail polish, etc.).
I joined in this month and what a treat! I was paired up with Amy from Milk and Cookies
THIS is what arrived in the mail on Thursday...what a treat!!
Thank you again Amy! If you want to join in, check out the site...it really is a fun way to connect with other home school moms from around the country!

Bible/Devotional: I am still in Corinthians with the kids. I LOVE that book, and I love Paul...he writes with such truth and passion and commitment.
Must Do: Basketball assessments, "How God Carves a Pumpkin" in religion class, pick up art from the Art show, and so on and so on and so on and so on.....
Zone: GARAGE! It's just been neglected for the past week and that is where it all piles up. I am just going to get in there and organize. I am also going to get into that 'gift closet' and take inventory...I have bought lots already for Christmas and I need to do see what is there. Added a few more this weekend that are going to need to be 'put together'....
Train them Up: This week our study in Corinthians continues. We move into the 5th and 6th chapters. Our character word this week is going to be responsibility. :) When Hayden heard that this was our new 'character word' his thoughts were, "Oh great, I know what that means!" :) I laughed, and we will tackle 'responsibility.' We are trying to incorporate the character trait in our daily lives...last week and tolerance was a great one. It was great to come together and 'talk' about how we used or failed to use the trait we are working on. I really love the Bible Study/Character class. FYI... I am still using the character journals that I get here.

This week at the diner!
The pumpkin bread recipe is one of my favorites, I am making it too this week for at home and on the road snacking:)
Menu: (Most of this week we are going to be running around in the evenings, just one of those weeks, lots of crock pot meals!)
Monday: turkey subs and Crockpot mac and cheese (the Queenie Bee's recipe...Hayden's fave!)
Tuesday: homemade chicken noodle soup ( in the big pot! Making enough to freeze some:))
Wednesday: barbequed black bean stew (in the crock pot)
Thursday: mini meatloafs and salad
Friday: French Dip ~ new crock pot recipe
Here's to a great week...

The Swap sounds like a LOT of fun!!
I really enjoy seeing your week laid out too. It inspires me to live vicariously through you. :) Hee. Hee.
so many good things going on. I love to see people living life to its fullest!
HEY! I would like to do this swap...but can't find it! You know that I am quite "computer challenged" and it is probably staring me in the face...but...could you send me the blog address, and tell me how to find it???
Your menu looks so good. I'd be knocking on your door at dinner time this week, if I lived close by. Your kids would be peeking out the window and saying "Shhhhhh! It's HER again! Maybe if we are quiet she will think we're not home!!! SHe's eating all our food!"
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
My sister is in her last year of being homeschooled. The swap sounds like a great idea. I'm going to mention it to my mom.
Here's to a great week, indeed!
Everything looks wonderful, Lori! Have a great week!

Hi Lori!
I think we probably are farther north-- we're in Chickamauga. Thanks for the swap info. It sounds like it will be lots of fun. Your menu sounds yummy, crock pot meals are some of my favorites. Hope you have a great week and get lots accomplished.

I love Meatloaf and we haven't had it for quite some time. Chicken soup is always a plus on cool nights.
You have some terrific recipes picked for this week's menu plan.
