You know it's Wednesday...Wordfilled Wednesday...
This ornament is one of my most cherished things,
I think that if the house were to burn to the ground, this would likely be lost
amidst the Christmas decorations...
It would be one of the "things" that I would miss most.
You see, the year that my friend, the Queen gave this to me, she had been in the hospital for several days and was still in recovery mode when December rolled around...just not up to her usual "over the top" Christmas revelry...
but she gave this to me...
it got me then, and it gets me now....
It goes on the front of the tree with 'my' ornaments on it...
those ones that I made in elementary school, and the ones that have been given to me through the years,
but this one is different...
it hits me in the heart,
every year when I pull it out of the box,
I get tears in my eyes... (I'm all welled up NOW...those blasted hormones...:))
you see.....

yeah, I'm just a big ol' mess!!
One look at that angel with a message so clear attached to her wing...
I tear up.
I get it.

Okay, so now I'M ALL A MESS!!!! What a way to start the day! :-) Thanks so much for reminding me of this. I still love that quote to this day! You're so sweet to remember such a time in our lives...boy, was THAT a year!
So now that I've seen this, I may scrap all other plans today and just decorate for Christmas!!! :-)
Hey, by the way...we've had this conversation before... your torture would be puzzles and crosswords...MINE would be BEING IN THE CAR FOR 13 HOURS STRAIGHT!!!! Bless you, oh dear one! Just be thankful that you have such great kids!!!
But still. T-H-I-R-T-E-E-N HOURS!!!!! It makes me crazy just to think of it!

I love it----what a treasure. Too bad you only get to see it at Christmastime, although I suppose that makes it even more special.
