Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Romans 12:2 (The Message)
What does saying yes to Jesus look like?
Blending in with the rest of the bunch?
Not if we take that “yes” seriously. Much like the peaches that I picked off the tree this week, there were a few that stood out. There were a few that just looked different. Mind you, the rest were fine and in fact most of them weren’t rotten in any way, they just didn’t “stand out.” We too stand out when we begin obeying and actively responding to the nudges that are asking us to move or act in ways that are continually against the grain of conventional culture. He desires to bring out the “best in us.” Of course He does, HE created us! He wants us to move in the ways of His son, the ultimate stand out, but let’s be real, standing out is hard. Standing out makes you, well, stand out. It means saying “no” to the crowd and saying “no” to the ways of the world and “yes” to the ways of the Word.
Have you asked yourself lately, do I stand out?
Would Jesus recognize me as a standout or am I blending in a bit too much?

Standing out is hard. And yet, I have found it to bolster my faith like nothing else. Because the more singled out I feel, at times, the more I seek Him at the throne.
“Have you asked yourself lately, do I stand out?” I think that is a constant and frequent question that needs to be asked!
Thank you for that charge to ask that question for myself right now!
I left a comment over at the Cafe, but I love this!
Happy WFW Lori!
Love,
Beth
Wow! I want to stand out!
You are so gifted! I love this picture!
I miss you, Lori! Miss you and love ya!
LOVE THIS!
loving the sharing today…
Totally love this!!
I really love this! Looking around and absorbing in has been a human flaw of mine. I truly strive to look to HIM instead, intent on absorbing HIM and not His creation.
Thank you for this word!
Have a blessed day…
One of my favorite verses.
I grew up in a town called Peculiar, and I always liked telling people where I was from… and I would admit that I am a bit Peculiar. Being weird is a good thing, actually it’s a God thing (compared to the ways of the world, of course).
Blessings my sweet peach Lori… I left my comment over at Internet Cafe! Then I decided what I wrote there, I should have written here and just given a quick comment over there.
I would have to say that YOU stand out like this vivid, firm peach! Firmly committed to GIVIN’ YOUR ALL! Back home, I think I stood out…but here I’m sure I stand out! I’m just not as sweet as a peach like you! Hoping you had a lovely day! Let’s stay away from blending in…OK?
Thanks for the great Word and the beautiful bunch of peaches! Every one!
Love and peace,
Peggy
