Why Worry?

The other evening the girls and I stood side by side in the dressing room trying on clothes for an upcoming event…Those 360 degree  mirrors aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. We each left wondering why we put so much pressure on ourselves and in particular our clothes. Then as if someone were speaking directly to me, this verse appeared front and center in my life. “Why can’t we be like the flowers?” I love when that happens. God speaks.

(this image is from my Maddie’s files…Delaney helped her mom learn a thing or two about  photoshop actions…ohhh, the love!)

come join the fun…

That is so beautiful! It is true, we worry too much something about such temporal things. Happy WFW!

Lori, are your graphics there for us to use on our blogs ie the sidebar? Or are you just showing us your beautiful talent? There are two I would love to use, but wanted to check with you first…

Why worry indeed…..who are we trying to impress
And whom should we be trying to please?
we kinda get it all back the front as we try so hard to belong to this temporary dwelling place…we seek a continuing city……not these ones which fall down so easily in the elements.

Great post!! That is just so true but we are human and tend to worry about those things. Life would be so much better if we would just wouldn’t worry about it so much..

Blessings sweetest Lori…Maddie…Delaney!!! What a beautiful way to exemplify this
WORD!!! and your daughter’s gifts and fun day looking at clothes… This is gorgeous!
The message is loud and clear. But ya’ gotta admit: the flower’s radiant beauty (or clothing) is so temporary than they just wilt…and loose it all! God certainly does enJOY speaking a clear WORD to us! (Check out Cathy’s verse but I’m sure you know it).
So let me weigh this 360 degree beauty of the flower versus your eternal inner beauty.
Hmmmmmmmmmm…priceless and costly. The flowers may not work hard but I guarantee the
Gardener has… so does Ours! Love the graphic & your precious heart for your girls!!!
    Peace, love(((hugs))) Peggy

    Hi Lori,

Beautiful graphic and deep thoughts to ponder. Amazing how someone could be so surrendered to the Lord that he could say it was well with his soul after losing his wife and daughters.

I have a long way to go in that grace. I liked the translation you used of that Scripture.

    Blessings,
    Janis
